Here at The Insurance Supper Club (ISC) we are excited by the launch of ‘Dive In’. Dive In is a unique diversity and inclusion festival for everyone across the Lloyd’s Market. It will take place at 12 different venues across the City of London from 29th September – 2nd October 2015. It is free to attend, and includes talks, a photographic exhibition, speed mentoring and workshops. Speakers including John Barnes, Lord John Browne, Jane Hill, Marcus Trescothick, Angie Peacock and Gok Wan.

Dive In is the result of a market-wide collaboration to engage and educate on the business case for diversity and inclusion helping The Corporation of Lloyd’s and the companies in the Lloyd’s Market to innovate, adapt to stay globally relevant, boost productivity and performance and attract and retain the best talent.

Inga Beale, CEO of Lloyd’s said, “The insurance industry in general, and Lloyd’s and the Lloyd’s Market in particular, cannot rest on our laurels if we want to attract the best talent, stay globally relevant and keep innovating at the speed that our clients demand.

“That means waking up to subjects like unconscious bias which makes managers hire in their own image, risking missing out on the different perspectives and insights that come from people with different backgrounds, gender, cultures, sexuality and physical impairments.”

“People work better knowing that they are valued and included. If we create inclusive environments and cultures in our workplaces, more people will achieve their full potential, and that quite simply is good for business,” concluded Dominic Christian, Chair of [email protected]’s and CEO of Aon UK.
