We are delighted to announce that the Insurance Supper Club has collaborated with the London Phoenix Orchestra to bring London “A Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion” in support of First Women.
The work of women in classical music has been under-represented for far too long, so it’s a pleasure to be able to take a small step towards redressing the balance with this concert.
From the beautiful melodies of Grace Williams’ Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes to the beguiling French harmonies of Lili Boulanger’s D’un Matin de Printemps and the broad romantic sweep of American composer Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony, the concert presents some of the finest orchestral music in the repertoire.
In the one piece composed by a man, fantastic all-female vocal trio Juice are front and centre – they performed the world premiere of Bitter Suite with London Phoenix Orchestra back in 2006 and it is a pleasure to revisit multiple award-winning composer Stuart Hancock’s rich and attractive score with these extraordinarily talented women
All proceeds on the evening will go to:
